2004-04-01 - 1:02 a.m. I thought I was the only person on earth who would feel disturbed by the TV news. Well, I was wrong. They are going to make TV news to have age ratings in some states, at least in Arizona, Utah, New Mexico and Texas. So, IF the TV news will contain guns, nudity, any adult material, bad language etc, they will not be allowed / suggested not to be viewed by minors for their protection. Sun-Times stated that the TV companies will have time to adapt to the new law by 30 June 2004, then there will have to be the rating in the beginning of it. I wonder how it will work. I can't imagine TV news without feeding the fear à la Michael Moore - unknown black guys stealing, raping, murdering, burglaring the virgin white neighboorhoods and poor white collar corp thieves.. guns, death - thousands of dead Iraqis, Afghans. .. lying on the ground dying for a few seconds in front of your eyes, then the interview of the brave American soldiers (and a brief note of two Americans being killed.. ) and so on and so on. I could guess the challange with the new rule would be to re-evaluate what the news should contain.. but there probably isn't much hope of the news changing. So beware, you minors.. you'll be able to get the news only on newspapers or in the internet very soon. I wonder how the nationally broadcasting TV stations will have to do to comply with the new regulations? Edit: -- I didn't invent anything else to april-BS. |
